The compositional center of the painting is dominated by the female whose figure, sitting in an armchair, is highlighted by the bright red of the dress she is wearing. An envelope of air and light spreads over every component of the image, whether it is the human figure or the objects around it. Dynamic juxtaposed touches are used to describe the substance of a shape that is found between strong contours. The artist uses drawing accurately, the color is spontaneous, but with all the knowledge of tones, semitones, chords and nuances derived from meditation and knowledge. The light lace, rendered by an infinite range of carefully shaped grays, reveals its intimate and original substance.
